Chicken Fried Bacon. Its inventor, Frank Sodolak of Sodolak’s Original Country Inn in Snook, TX, is my culinary hero of the year. [ via jimfl del.icio.us ]
Content Management Systems I Would Or Wouldn’t Fuck. Guess which one is “the Japanese schoolgirl of content management systems, practically begging for you to stalk it on Myspace or rub up on it in the subway.” The descriptions are right on the money.
The Self-Portrait Mirror‘s name is somewhat misleading as there are eight different mirror designs to choose from, each one interacting with the viewer by reflecting back a particular image. Nice Rack and Mustachio are my favorites, they’re laser-cut out of plastic and available for about $45 from hip design stores like The Future Perfect Williamsburg and online ones like Elsewares.
Achewood’s Roast Beef introduces us to Kraftwerk Thänksgiving, “a regular supper with turkey and carrots and stuff but the mood is very severe and everyone acts like Kraftwerk. Kraftwerk Thänksgivings always end with someone admitting that though they have eaten, they remain unsatisfied. “
The Tofurky Disguise Kit. “You can print it in glorious full colour, or even in gritty black and white to create a mysterious Film Noir effect.” Much as I dislike turkey, I despise fake meat so much more. This kit is so cute I’m tempted to print it out and stick it in all sorts of meats, even actual turkey. [ via Gothamist ]
The Chuck Norris Theory of Lost. “The blast-doors and the 10 foot thick solid concrete walls in the Swan hatch were built to try to trap Chuck back in the early 80s. He escaped of course, by roundhouse kicking his way back to the surface, but some of his magnetic personality remained behind the wall.”
Come Out and Play Festival. My friends Greg and Mattia (plus other cool people from gameLab) have organized an annual three day festival dedicated to street games, sign up to play if you’ll be in NYC this September. I’ll be playing some games as well as staffing the events.
Wolfman: ‘I Killed JonBenet’; Adds, ‘Rrrrrrr’ Friend Skot has the best spin on the media hysteria around the case this past week.
List of neologisms on The Simpsons. I have to confess I’m not a regular viewer, but will be making “double-bacon geniusburger” a part of my vocabulary from this day forward.
