{"id":2911,"date":"2003-07-01T23:11:20","date_gmt":"2003-07-02T03:11:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lia.bulaong.com\/wp\/?p=2911"},"modified":"2003-07-01T23:11:20","modified_gmt":"2003-07-02T03:11:20","slug":"ann_patchett_lucy_grealy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lia.bulaong.com\/blog\/2003\/07\/ann_patchett_lucy_grealy\/","title":{"rendered":"ann patchett &#038; lucy grealy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was almost done with the second to the last paragraph of Ann Patchett&#8217;s essay  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2003\/06\/29\/magazine\/29WWLN.html?ex=1372219200&#038;en=fe8df147c900605b&#038;ei=5007&#038;partner=USERLAND\">&#8220;Friendship Envy&#8221;<\/a> about &#8220;Sex and the City&#8221; and the complications of friendships when I put two and two together and realized the Lucy she mentions as having lost recently was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucygrealy.com\/\">Lucy Grealy<\/a>, the author of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0060569662\/cheesedip\">Autobiography of a Face<\/a>.<br \/>\nPatchett published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorkmetro.com\/nymetro\/news\/people\/features\/n_8396\/\">a very moving profile<\/a> of both Grealy and their friendship in New York Magazine three months ago, well worth a read but be sure you have a box of tissues around if you&#8217;re the crying type.
